This site allows you to look up service providers in your area by area code, and then gives you information on how good their customer services, connectivity, and whether or not they will be able to connect to your home. It is a good idea to look at the site even if you are going with one of the larger companies, if just to find out if they are as reliable as they like to say they are.
Besides the speeds and what’s available in your area, you also need to pay attention to the contracts themselves. Usually I DSL contract will last one and two years. That being said, it is possible to get out of them, but it will cost you anywhere from $80. $120 depending on your provider. Some even charge more than that to get out of their DSL service. When looking for cheap DSL, be sure that you pay attention to the contract.
